Hello everyone and welcome back to another blog post on ~Foodie with a Passion~! Happy Tuesday everyone and hope you had an amazing Mother’s Day weekend. Todays post were recapping the Foodie Fun from Minnesota and Wisconsin so remember to click subscribe so you don’t miss out 🤩
Alrighty! So I was very much craving some Asian comfort food and I found a pho 🍜 place so I was super happy! This was in Austin, MN.
I spoke a little bit of the Vietnamese I knew and the older guy who seemed to be the owner and he gave me one of his bowls so I had something to eat out of at the hotel. So thankful for this old man and every time I use that bowl I’ll remember his kindness.
And then I made it over to Racine, WI. The Reefhouse Brew House was closed since they did a special Mother’s Day brunch and closed early. So Hubby found me Joey’s YardArm Bar and Grill so I could get myself a batch of Walleye since we won’t be able to get that when we’re down in our new home. Walleye is a lake fish so we’ll be catching ocean fish than lake fish.
Apparently the front left container was the creamy horseradish sauce and the waitress told me after I started eating. No wonder I was dying 🥵 The back right was the Tartar sauce. Also Sand Dollars! Thinly sliced potatoes that are deep fried and sprinkled with Parmesan cheese. This is definitely a keeper recipe that I’m going to have to try when I’m settled into my new home!
And I got to meet up with my fellow RD colleague for lunch the next day.
Pretty much everything on the menu had flame marks on it so I had to find SOMETHING that I could eat. Usually in that case, a quesadilla is what I normally go for. And these were to die for!
And obviously since I’m in Wisconsin, I had to get my hands on the cheese curds.
Now I have to say that eating out on the daily does add up so I’ve been eating the wraps I’ve made or yogurt that I’ve brought from home, etc. I ended up picking up this Cobb salad from Piggly Wiggly and the leftover sand dollars from last night.
And that’s a wrap! Next stop is Indiana and Ohio. Let me know in the comments below if you’ve been to either and what you recommend! Until then…signing off!
