Weekly Trader Joe’s Haul and Asian Market Haul!

Hello everyone and welcome back to another blog post on ~Foodie with a Passion~! Happy Saturday everyone and hope you’re having a great weekend so far. Yesterday was my cat Mochi’s 2nd birthday so made sure she got some yummy kitty treats when I got home from work. Today’s post is my weekly TJ haul and I did a quick haul at the Asian market for a few things to replenish the fridge. Alrighty! Weekly TJ Haul here we go!

TJ Haul
  • Sliced Black Olives – for Chicken Long Rice
  • Black Beans – making sure I had a can of beans on hand for a quick pantry meal like Taco Bowls
  • Carrots – almost out so I replenished the fridge. I’ll be using some in my Braised Daikon dish as well as Stir Fry and Pot Roast this week
  • Rainbow Potatoes – for the Slow Cooker Pot Roast
  • Bananas – I’ve been enjoying slices bananas in plain Greek yogurt lately so I gotta make sure and have my bananas
  • Green Onions – I used up the rest in Chicken Long Rice and so I bought another bag. Making Asian dishes I seem to go through green onions way quicker
  • Red Onions – got a couple more for a few more recipes. It’ll be in stir fry and also pot roast
  • Tomatoes – the previous ones I bought were nearing the end of its lifetime so I had to toss them. I got new ones so I can make side salads since I still have romaine hearts in the fridge
  • Baby Spinach – for the blanched spinach that I will have as a side dish this week. Some of it went into the Brekky Bowls that I meal prepped
  • Wisconsin Mild Cheddar – I got a small block of cheese to shred and freeze. This option seems to be cheaper than buying already shredded cheese at the store lately
  • Tofu – I can never have too much tofu so I always want a backup in the fridge
  • Liquid Egg Whites – trying to add more protein to breakfast so I used this when I made the Brekky Bowls (4 whole eggs plus egg whites)
  • Plain Low-Fat Greek Yogurt – I’ve swapped from non-fat to low-fat. Despite only a 10kcal difference, I do have to add more calories in the second and third trimester. I’ll have these with sliced bananas and cereal
  • Strawberry Kefir – and my weekly bottle of kefir. I still have it just about every night with strawberries and Rice Krispies
  • Eggs – and more eggs for the week
  • Bone-In Skin-On Thighs – for Chicken Long Rice
  • Nappa Cabbage – I used the last of it in Chicken Long Rice so I made sure I got some to replenish
  • Bean Sprouts – for the stir fry noodles this week
  • Okra – I will blanch these and have them as a side dish
  • Bún Gao Rice Vermicelli Noodles – this exactly isn’t the long rice you use for Chicken Long Rice but this will do. The last time I got my rice noodles in Hawaii so it was the authentic ones
  • Mama Noodles – I’m going to use these noodles in the noodle stir fry dish next week
