Hello everyone and welcome back to another blog post on ~Foodie with a Passion~! Happy Saturday everyone and I hope you’re having a good 4th of July weekend so far. Today is my weekly Trader Joe’s Haul and since I’ve been shopping at TJs every Friday the cashiers started to recognize me and say to me “See you next week! 👋” so before we check out what I got, remember to click the subscribe button so you don’t miss another Foodie Fun 🤩
Alrighty! Let’s take a look and I’ll also be sharing my meal ideas with it.

- Baby Bok Choy – two of these went into the Somen noodle soup I made for dinner on Friday. I made a soy broth and cooked bok choy and green onions with fish cake and served with Broiled Salmon Collar and Edamame for protein
- Sliced White Mushrooms – I wanted to make a Chicken and Veggie soup this week for meal prep so this will be one of the veggies
- Persian Cucumbers – I’ll probably make some more egg salad or use it for salads next week
- Tomato – my cherry tomato plant needs a bit more time to ripen so I got myself another tomato for my salads
- Green Onions – I’ve been using these for my Asian soups a lot lately so I needed to restock
- Haricot Verts – felt like having some green beans this week for veggies as a side
- Baby Broccoli – and I haven’t had baby broccoli in a while so I’ll use this for a side dish next week too

- Ground Chicken – I have all the ingredients except for potsticker wrappers so technically if I get those I can make my potstickers as meal prep. We’ll see how I feel after the holiday weekend
- Bone-In, Skin-On Chicken – half of this will be the Chicken and Veggie Soup and the rest will for Oyako-Don, which is braised chicken with onions and egg over rice
- Brown Rice Cakes – still like these this week with the Laughing Cow Cheese topped with strawberries
- Laughing Cow Cheese – for the brown rice cakes. They are really good snacks lately
- Chicken Stock – for the Chicken and Veggie Soup
- Tricolor Quinoa – since I haven’t been able to eat bread these last few weeks, I figured I would eat the soup with quinoa
- Tricolor Potatoes – I wanted to do smashed potatoes next week for a side dish. I will likely roast them and smash it down with a spatula before serving
And there we have it! We’re planning a trip up to the commissary to stock up on meats so I’ll be able to meal prep a bit better. It will also save us some money since I’ll only have to buy produce and other perishables on a weekly basis. I’m not sure if I’ll go to Aldi’s this weekend if I’m able to get everything at the commissary. So let me know in the comments below what you plan to meal prep/plan next week and until then…signing off!
