Monthly Costco and Trader Joe’s Haul!

Hello everyone and welcome back to another blog post on ~Foodie with a Passion~! Happy Saturday everyone and hope you’re having a great weekend so far. So we ended up doing a stock-up haul last weekend that included Costco, Trader Joe’s and the Commissary. We only did this so we didn’t have to get too much for Fred Meyer this month. Trust me, I revised my list. Anyhow, today’s post is just Costco and Trader Joe’s so before we get started, remember to click subscribe so you don’t miss another Foodie Fun 🤩

Alrighty! So I am including my non-food items today since that was the majority of the Costco haul. And let me tell you, we probably won’t have to grab these items for a while.

  • Kirkland Tortilla Strips – we were just down to the crumbs the other night for tacos so we grabbed another bag
  • Kirkland Kettle Brand Kringle Cut Chips – chips aren’t the healthiest item for anyone but if we’re out on a road trip and I have sandwiches packed, I would grab a couple handfuls to share with Hubby. I gotta be careful though because Hubby will eat half a bag in one sitting sometime
  • Planet Pillows (x2) – the Hotel Grand pillows we had were releasing all the feathers and we’ve had them for about a year and a half. So time for change out the pillows. I think my sinus/mucus finally cleared up after changing pillows
  • Scrubbing Bubbles Bathroom Cleaners – ever since I’ve discovered this at Costco (they were on sale once), I’ve been buying this at Costco. I grew up using this brand and I combine this with Magic Erasers
  • Tide Laundry Detergent – I wasn’t planning on buying this but it was on sale and we didn’t have a backup in the garage so I grabbed one. That’s the key with Costco sale items; if it’s on sale I get it when it is. That way I’m not paying more when I actually need it. Plus I do laundry at least once a week
  • Plush Flannel – Hubby’s request for a new soft flannel. We ended up getting him 2 more at Eddie Bauer outlet store for the season
  • Traeger Gourmet Blend Wood Pellets – we were almost out and although it wasn’t on sale we do go through pellets when we smoke meats
  • Kirkland Paper Towels – the commodity item (aside from toilet paper 😂); we’ve got a few more rolls in the garage but we didn’t want to run out
  • Kirkland Parchment Paper – I used up the last of what we have and I don’t buy parchment paper that often since I mostly just use it for baking cookies or something like that
  • Reynolds Heavy Duty Foil – the last time Costco had foil on sale was the every day version and when we did ribs the other day and when we didn’t use heavy duty foil, it didn’t really hold up so we’re back to HD foil
  • Scotch-Brite Sponges (21-pack) – I really won’t have to buy sponges for the year. They had these on sale in this month’s coupon book
  • Dixie Paper Plates – I normally get them when they’re on sale but we went through paper plates pretty quickly since the last time we bought them
  • Babybel White Cheddar Cheese – and instead of string cheese, I’ve been on a white cheddar kick lately so I went by personal preference
Trader Joe’s
  • Gnocchi – we’ve been doing tortellini when I’ve shopped at TJs so I decided to switch it up a bit and do gnocchi
  • Smoked Apple Chardonnay Chicken Sausage – my favorite sausage and I usually make sausage pepper omelets and eat it for a meal prep breakfast. These freeze well too so if I don’t have an immediate use for them
  • Creamy Unsalted Peanut Butter – rule of thumb for me is to always have a backup in the pantry. I’m sad though…these went up by 30 cents 😢
  • Navel Orange (x2) – for Hubby. I’m not a citrus person
  • Bananas – their ever-so-famous 19 cents each. I forgot to get bananas in my QFC haul so I made sure grab a bunch
  • Sun-Dried Tomatoes – for the tortellini soup I was making
  • Spaghetti Squash – they didn’t have the 99 cents/lb as advertised at QFC so I got one at TJs since we haven’t done spaghetti squash in quite sometimes. Not sure if I want to do ground bear or ground Turkey. They’ve been out of turkey for a while at the stores due to the snow storm that happened around the holidays so maybe I might see some at the store later in the week
  • Organic Baby Spinach – I used some of it in the soup and added it to some salads later in the week
  • Blood Oranges – again for Hubby
  • Colorful Carrot Coins – Hubby really likes these so we’ll make sure these become a side one day
  • Super Sweet Cut White Corn – and I was out of corn in the freezer so I grabbed another back. These are so easy to add to salads, frozen, as is, and they thaw out just perfectly for lunch
Trader Joe’s Wine

And last but not least, 3 bottles each for me and Hubby. I went with 2 chardonnays, one for cooking and one for drinking obviously. I will use my cooking chardonnay for drinking if anyone gifts me a sweet Riesling (I usually drink fry rieslings). My other bottle was a Pinot Grigio. Hubby got all red wines and I’m going to leave it at that.

Let me know in the comments below what your monthly Costco haul consisted of and until then…signing off!
