Asian Grocery Haul!

Hello everyone and welcome back to another ~Foodie with a Passion~. Happy Tuesday everyone and I hope you enjoyed the long weekend for the holiday! Today’s post is my Asian grocery haul because it’s been a hot minute since I’ve gone shopping for Asian goodies. But before we get started, remember to click subscribe so you don’t miss another Foodie Fun 🤩

Alrighty! So this trip was to Central Market but by golly, they were out of so many things I wanted; it was like they didn’t get a delivery or something! But I still got some of the things so let’s take a look.

Asian Haul
  • Hana Katsuo (Shaved Bonito Flakes) – I had planned to make Okonomiyaki (Japanese savory pancakes) and these are what I need for topping. Unfortunately they were out of the mix but I still needed to replenish this in my pantry
  • Takuwan (pickled daikon radish) – I made some Japanese food over the weekend so this was what I wanted to serve with
  • Bulldog Sauce – I primary use this as yakisoba sauce as well as for fried foods like katsu (fried cutlet). We were out so I needed to replenish it
  • Rice Vinegar – I’m making potstickers and I used what I had left for sushi a while back so I had been out.
  • Okonomi Sauce – the sauce for okonomiyaki. Serious, I picked up everything except the mix
  • Nikishiki White Rice – we were out of white rice and I wanted to make spam musubis so I got it to replenish
  • Aonori (crushed seaweed) – topping for Okonomiyaki
  • Tacoma Tofu Soft – soft tofu to mix into my potsticker meat mix
  • Yakisoba Noodle – I originally wanted ramen but I couldn’t find the one without the soup packet since I make my own soup. So I settle for this one
  • Gyoza Skins – for the potstickers I made over the weekend
  • Shirataki (yam noodles) – for the braised meat and potatoes I made over the weekend
  • Gobo (burdock root) – wasn’t sure when I would hit the Asian store next and when I would crave mixed rice so I picked some up

And there we have it! Let me know in the comments below what cultural item you’ve tried in your life and what you wouldn’t want to try. Until then…signing off!
