Hello everyone and happy Monday! Welcome back to another blog post on ~Foodie with a Passion~! I hope everyone had a fun-tastic weekend because I know I did. Before we dive into today’s topic, remember to subscribe to this blog so you don’t miss another Foodie Fun!
Alrighty! So this past weekend, I did baked bread on both days. Saturday was Hoagie Rolls and Sunday was Bagels. I also made Rice Krispie treats for the dessert this week so I can feel like a little kid again.
Also…wedding update! I have found THE DRESS for the big day. I know where I need to start working on fitness-wise to tone where I need to tone.
Liked above, this recipe was interesting. It required me to proof the rolls and punch it down every 10 min and repeat 6 times for a total of 60 min of proofing time. After that I rolled the hoagies into 8 pieces and scored them and let it rise for another 25 min. They came out so fluffy and delicious! I highly recommend this recipe.
Also my first attempt at making bagels. The recipe originally called maple syrup but I made a conscious decision to change that to honey because it makes more sense, right? The difficult part was the ring formation and boiling it because the rings kind of came apart so I had to try and put it back together once it was cool enough to touch. I topped it with oatmeal and baked it in the oven as instructed in the recipe. I haven’t tried it yet but probably I will eat it for breakfast sometime this week. I froze pretty much all of it, that way we have something quick and easy to eat for breakfast.
I had my fiancé pick up some Rice Krispie cereal for me this week and since we had marshmallows…I was craving these nostalgic childhood snack so I made them too.
And there we have it…a weekend full of baking! Technically the Rice Krispies were made in a microwave but you get what I mean 😂 Let me know in the comments below what you made this weekend and until then… signing off!!
